Graduate Student Profiles

Picture
Julie Jarvey
Julie is interested in how human-induced ecological changes influence animal behavior. Before joining the lab in 2017, she worked as the camp manager of the Simien Mountains Gelada Research Project and continued working with the project as a master’s student in Conservation Ecology at the University of Michigan with Drs. Bobbi Low and Jacinta Beehner. Her master’s research focused on seasonal diet shifts and feeding competition in female gelada monkeys. Her dissertation work will focus on how livestock grazing regimes influence spotted hyena foraging strategies.
