Application
|
To apply for BEAM, you must complete two separate applications:
1) MSU Office for Education Abroad (OEA) general application located at the OEA website* 2) BEAM Supplemental Application. Please email your completed supplemental application to Jana Woerner. BEAM's deadline for BOTH the general application AND the supplemental application is February 15th (per OEA). Please note that your application will NOT be reviewed until ALL materials have been submitted. Admission is limited to 17 students. We will begin reviewing applications on a rolling basis starting January 1st. Due to the small class size and the popularity of the program, BEAM often fills up long before the OEA general applications are due. After applications are reviewed, applicants will be interviewed by the course instructors and final decisions will be made as soon as possible. Applicants are evaluated and considered for admission based on this program's eligibility criteria, as well as the students' overall GPA, GPA in related courses, supplemental application, writing ability, and personal interview. Detailed information about application procedures, the acceptance process, pre-departure orientation, on-site logistics, and returning home are provided in the Student Handbook (given to students upon submission of their application). *A $100 non-refundable application fee is required for all MSU study abroad programs. The application fee is later applied to the program fee. After students accept admission into the program, they will be billed for an additional non-refundable $750 deposit, which is also applied to the program fee. Students who wish to withdraw their application are required to notify the Office for Education Abroad, in writing, that they no longer intend to participate. |
